Last Post of 2012 (in 2013)

It has been a long time since I have looked at my blog, although I still read up on my favorite blogs on occasion.  I took advantage of the time off between semesters to finish Orca Bay.  I have decided to name this quilt, which is something I rarely do.  It shall be named "Gray Street."  Here it is in all its glory!

My favorite part of this quilt is the border.  The quilting was very simple, and included straight lines and a swirly design in the purple string blocks.  Thank you to all of the fellow quilters who so kindly helped me with grays to finish this project!

My final stash report is as follows:

Stash Report
Used this Week: .5
Used year to Date: 31 yards
Added this Week: 0
Added Year to Date: 21.75 yards
Net Used for 2012: 9.25 yards

UFOs (Charlotte's Baskets, Hexie: Part Deux)

Well, it is back to the grind tomorrow.  I will be starting my most difficult semester in my training to be a psychologist.  I am afraid my poor sewing machine will be neglected.  This year, if I am lucky, I want to get Charlotte's Baskets quilted.  I want to do baptist fans, and will likely hand quilt.  I am afraid to do a poor job if I were to put it under the machine.

Happy Quilting!
Natasha

  3. Wonderful to hear from you. This quilt is beautiful - well done! Oh, a handquilting of Babtist Fans is a perfect choice and will get you thru that last bit of education too.

  6. Thanks for the posting, Natasha (I've missed your blog updates). I think the quilt is marvelous - and I've never thought of naming my quilts. Maybe I'll have to start.
I was invited to join a book club during my first year of teaching, and found the break to be just what I needed during that intense year. Hopefully your hand-quilting can do that for you. Have a good semester.
